Refers to the fundamental web based document which makes up a website.В  Websites can have just one page or many.

Perl

An open source CGI scripting language for programming.В  In relative terms, Perl is fairly old having been created in 1987.В  However, it is still widely used in web hosting by both administrators and webmasters.

PHP

A free open source scripting language used on the server-side of web hosting.В  PHP allows for a wide variety of applications.В  A useful feature of PHP is that it can be embedded in HTML coding but in order for PHP coding to work, the file must have a php extension and not an html file extension.

Plug-in

A small piece of code that is installed later on to a core or primary application.В  Many times these plug-ins are updates and contain new features.

Post Office Protocol (POP)

Probably the most used email protocol for accessing email.В  POP works by downloading emails to a local pc for viewing, replying, editing, and storing.В  A popular email client that utilizes POP is Microsoft Outlook.
