Redundant Array of Inexpesnive Disks (RAID)

A computer technology that allows web hosting servers to reach higher data capacity while maintaining lower costs.В  This is done by linking the drives together into an array.В  This technology also made it possible to use the same inexpensive hard drives that home pc’s use in web grade servers.В  By linking them together, it creates a redundancy so that if 1 drive fails, it can be replaced without deactivating or shutting down the entire server.

Reseller Hosting

A type of web hosting that gives the ability to an end user to divide up the hosting accounts allotment of resources such as disk space and bandwidth to “repackage” the hosting to be sold to third parties.В  Generally this is done to make a profit.В  Reseller hosting can be done on many types of web hosting.В  Dedicated servers generally work best for reseller hosting but it can be done on VPS and shared hosting accounts as well.В  However, to do reseller hosting on a shared hosting account, the hosting provider needs to be configured to allow this.
