UNIX
A operating system that mainly is done through a command line interface.В This offers a very robust and powerful way to manage any web hosting server.В Unix and Linux operating system environments have almost become synonymous but are actually different but only in how they handle certain functions.
Uniform Resource Locator (URL)
More commonly referred to as a web address, URL’s are the the formal name and includes the several different parts that make it up.В For example, http://www.webhostingpadreviews.com would be a complete URL.В “The http://” is the protocol of the address.В The “www” is the hostname and the “webhostingpadreviews.com” is the actual domain name.
Unique Visitor
An individual that visitors a website during a predetermined time frame.В This time frame can be configured anywhere from 10 minutes to days depending on the statistical package used.В The visit is then only counted once so if they return with the predetermined time frame only the first visit is recorded.
